On both days, an awareness programme was conducted on the healthcare services, welfare schemes and support available from the Government of Tamil Nadu for children with special needs.
Two Block Coordinators participated in the programme and provided valuable information and guidance to the parents and caregivers regarding the various government services and welfare schemes available to children with special needs. Around 140 beneficiaries and caregivers participated in the awareness programme over the two days.
Items Distributed
The following essential provisions were distributed to 140 beneficiary families:
Rice: 5 kg × 140 families – 700 kg
Toor Dal: 1 kg × 140 families – 140 kg
Masoor Dal: 0.5 kg × 140 families – 70 kg
Gingelly Oil: 0.5 litre × 140 families – 70 litres
Salt: 1 packet × 140 families – 140 packets
Bathing Soap: 1 per family – 140 Nos.
Washing Soap: 1 per family – 140 Nos.
Spice Powders: 140 sets, comprising Sambar Powder, Rasam Powder, Coriander Powder and Chilli Powder (100 g each) – 56 kg
Green Gram (Moong Dal): 250 g × 140 families – 35 kg
Diapers: 53 packets, comprising 35 child-size and 17 adult-size packets, with 20 diapers in each packet.
Noon Prasad
Following the distribution programme and awareness sessions, noon prasad was served to the beneficiaries and participants, with approximately 190 persons attending over the two days.
The two-day programme provided not only essential material support to the beneficiary families but also useful awareness and guidance regarding government healthcare and welfare services available for children with special needs.
